Hello again! It’s Alicia from The Baker Upstairs, and I’m so excited to share another sweet and decadent dessert recipe with you today! These Reese’s brownies are so rich and fudgy, and pull of delicious chopped Reese’s candies. They’re the perfect treat for chocolate and peanut butter lovers!
When it comes to brownies, people seem to be in two camps. Some people like their brownies tender and cakey, and some people like their brownies fudgy and rich. I am firmly in the fudgy camp! To me, the perfect brownie has a crackly top and a dense fudgy middle. I’ve tried recipe after recipe, trying to find the perfect brownie recipe, and this one is it! These brownies have the most wonderful texture and flavor, and are incredibly rich. I’ve been making these brownies for several years now, and I usually add a handful or two of chocolate chips to the batter for a little chocolate boost. This time, though, I thought it would be fun to add some chopped Reese’s candies to the brownie batter instead. Best decision ever!
The Reese’s candies make the brownies even more rich and fudgy, and the combination of chocolate and peanut butter is always a winner. I think I just may have to make them this way from now on, since they were a huge hit with everyone in my family!
Reese’s Brownies
The full recipe is at the bottom of this post, but here’s what you’ll need:
- butter
- sugar
- eggs
- vanilla
- cocoa powder
- cake flour
- salt
- baking powder
- Reese’s candies
The brownie batter is so quick to make, and you don’t even need a mixer! Because it starts with melted butter, you can mix it all by hand with a whisk or a spatula. Once it’s all mixed together, you’ll add your chopped Reese’s candies. The recipe says to add one cup of candy, but it definitely doesn’t have to be precise. I always make sure to test a few candies for “quality control” purposes… or maybe because they’re so delicious that I can’t help myself.
Next you’ll spread the batter in a 9 x 9 baking dish, then bake until a toothpick inserted about two inches from the side comes out clean. It’s important to let the brownies cool completely before slicing and serving, so they will hold together better. They smell so delicious that it’s so tough to wait, though!
These brownies have the most amazing rich and decadent texture. The top is crisp and crackly, while the inside is gooey and fudgy. The pieces of Reese’s candy throughout add even more richness and the perfect amount of peanut butter flavor. They are so good!
Once they’ve cooled, these brownies are actually pretty sturdy, so they are great for sending in lunch boxes or packaging up to share with a friend. I won’t blame you if you don’t want to share, though!
