So, you’ve wrapped all your gifts, right? (Ha! In a perfect universe, where you actually have 2 hours to yourself, maybe… Believe me, I get it.) But let’s say that you have wrapped them. You’ve cut perfect rectangles of wrapping paper, and you’ve carefully folded and taped the gifts closed. What did you do with all of the wrapping paper scraps? It drives me crazy when I have a 6″ wide strip of fancy wrapping paper leftover when I wrap something. Do you save it? Do you throw it away? What do you do with it?
Since I’m a borderline hoarder, I save all those scraps. I cleaned out our wrapping paper closet yesterday, and there were tons of little scraps, too small to be useful, but so big that I apparently felt too guilty to throw them away the first time around. But since all the scraps were buried beneath 9 pillows (seriously, how did we accumulate 9 extra pillows?!), 2 big blankets and about 3 dozen used gift bags, all the pieces were so wrinkled that they weren’t usable anymore, even for crafts. Bummer for sure!
Do you have a junk room in your house? One where you throw in all the stuff you have no idea what to do with? I’ve been trying to clear out our junk room so I can turn it into my office, but it’s a disaster. Baby things that we don’t need anymore. Extra craft supplies. All my maternity clothes. All my receipts and bills since we moved in 3 years ago. Such a pain! But on the bright side, my wrapping paper closet, which is in that room, is organized enough that I can actually get to the paper, bows and ribbons, without having to remove 9 pillows, 2 blankets and 36 used gift bags (which is a huge time saver!). My wedding dress and a few bridesmaid dresses, are still in there, but overall, it’s a huge improvement! (… for the closet at least…)
