Hi there! It’s Megan from Homemade Ginger again with another fall inspired craft! These splatter paint pumpkins are so fun and modern yet super easy to create. Kids will LOVE getting their hands messy and creating these wonderfully splattered masterpieces!
I love all things pumpkin spiced like everyone else. It’s literally everywhere! We always head out to a free pumpkin patch and pick out our favorite ones to set on the front doorstep. Everyone in the family finds the perfect one just for them. However, when it comes to decorating with pumpkins on the interior of my home, I’m not as enthusiastic about the idea. I love aquas, grays and white. Orange just doesn’t fit in with my home decor. That is why I love finding ways to bring pumpkins indoors without sacrificing my color scheme.
These splatter paint pumpkins can be customized to fit any color scheme. Or you could just let the kids pick any colors that they want and make them crazy. They are simply adorable with a modern twist. Make a bunch and put them on the mantel. Splatter some mini pumpkins and place them in a glass hurricane for an unexpected centerpiece. Or paint some large ones and use them outside!
I found these black and white paint splatter pumpkins but wanted to make some bright colored versions!
Splatter Paint Pumpkins
The full instructions will be at the end of this post, but here is what you will need:
- White Pumpkins (or paint some orange ones white)
- Acrylic Paint
- Water
- Large Paint Brush
You will want to start off with white pumpkins for this project. Many stores sell faux white ones or you can grab some super cheap plastic ones and paint them white yourself. Once you have your white pumpkins, mix some acrylic paint with a few drops of water to make it a thin consistency.
Grab a large paint brush and use your fingers to spray and splatter the paint across the pumpkins.
Rinse out the brush and keep layering on more colors.
Allow them to fully dry, then display your fun pumpkins proudly!
You will love this fall painting activity!
