I have to admit, I’m guilty of buying those boring, pre-packaged Valentines from the store. You know, the ones that have princesses or super heroes on them? We’ll run into Walmart to grab some shampoo, and of course there they all are at the front of the store to get the kids attention. And before you know it, my kids have fallen in love with the Disney Princess ones and the My Little Pony ones and they’re begging and begging and begging to get them. (Even though my 3 year old doesn’t even go to school and really can’t give Valentines to the other kids at daycare…) So of course, into the cart they go.

My oldest daughter is only in senior Kindergarten, so we’ve only ever had one Valentine’s Day at school where she got to give Valentines to her class. I’m kind of new at this kids-in-school thing, so to be completely honest with you, I never really knew there were other options. But holy smokes, are there ever tons of amazing ideas out there! Seriously, people are SO CREATIVE, and Valentine’s Day seems to be the only holiday where you get to use ridiculous puns and not only is it acceptable, it’s super awesome!
