I’m so embarrassed to admit this, but the lower shelves in my kitchen cupboards are dedicated to self serve “toddler food” – Costco sized portions of safe and not completely unhealthy snacks that my older two kids can help themselves to without me having to help them reach, open or pour out the food. Which let me tell you, has been so helpful since we’ve had our third baby. It makes me feel a little guilty letting them wander the house and help themselves to their snacks, but I’m not a perfect parent, especially when the baby needs me.
But wouldn’t I be the best mom ever if I made homemade fish crackers?! And check out the other awesome things on this list! I don’t even have time to shower, but I still have these high hopes and dreams of some day filling my kids with homemade, healthy snacks.
It’s okay if you save this list and never actually make any of these recipes – actually, I’ll high five you if you do make any of them – but, maybe you’re a bit like me, with the high hopes of eating healthy some day? And I think we can all agree that there is nothing you can buy from a box that tastes better than fresh, homemade food! And I mean really, how hard can it possibly be to make your own pickles?
I know, I went a little overboard with the number of recipes here. I guess I have REALLY high hopes! haha It was too many for one post, so I split it into two posts. So here are another 30 recipes for fresh ingredient, (mostly) natural, completely homemade foods that you normally buy boxed, bottled, or bagged.
