These back to school organization ideas make the perfectionist in me so happy! I’m not a very organized person, so I can promise you that if you open my mudroom door right now, you won’t see perfectly lined up shoes with hooks for jackets and names centered perfectly over top. I’d love to be that organized, but then I come back to reality and remember that I have three messy kids.
Even still, somehow, seeing other people’s organizing ideas makes me drool a little and hope that maybe one day my kids will put their shoes away neatly, fold their own laundry and organize their school supplies. Oh dreams!
It’s back to school time and that means it’s time to start thinking about jackets, backpacks, schedules, extracurriculars, and library books! But with all of those things that our kids need/love/enjoy, how do you keep it all organized? All of the pencil crayons, glue, scissors, markers, pens and paper that they’re going to need for their homework. Where do you store it?
I think the thing that shocked me the most about my kids going to school is the amount of paper that comes home from school. There’s so. much. paper. We get crafts (so many crafts!), forms, newsletters, and all sorts of other things. I have no idea what to do with any of it? In another couple of years, we’ll have three kids in school. It’s making my head spin a little bit thinking about all the paper that will come home then!
It must have been similar when we were in school? I remember my mom had a huge pile of papers that used to be stacked next to the telephone when we were kids. And any time she’d clean out the pile, someone in our family would miss something and they’d get mad at her. lol My poor mom. I remember thinking it was such a messy pile, and I always wondered why she kept it in the kitchen, but now I get it. Sorry I doubted you mom!
