Greetings everyone! It’s Megan from Homemade Ginger and I can’t wait to share my first Halloween inspired craft of the season! Yes, I know that September is barely in session, but it’s time to get thinking about those spooky kids crafts that we all love for the fall season. These googly eye candle holders couldn’t be easier to make and are so stinkin’ adorable. They would be so fun as a part of a Halloween mantle or tablescape.
I’m not a huge fan of creepy and scary Halloween decor in my home. However, anything with googly eyes is sure to get me every time. They make anything instantly so quirky and cute! Adding googly eyes to just about any decor item instantly makes it ready for Halloween in my book. I have tried adding them to a Halloween wreath a few years ago to take it to the next level of cuteness.
When I was thinking how to add some quick and easy decor, I instantly thought of googly eyes and candle holders! Make some in all different sizes and heights and add them to your Halloween mantel. Not only is it super easy, but also very affordable. You can grab most of these materials at the dollar store and after a little bit of time with your hot glue gun, you will have a super unique way to bring in this fall season!
I was inspired by these googly eye mummy jars. I decided to try covering the whole thing in eyes and making it a candle holder. I love how it turned out!
Googly Eye Candle Holder
The full tutorial is at the end of this post, but here is what you will need:
- Googly Eyes
- Hot Glue Gun
- Clear Candle Holder
Grab any size or shape of a clear candle holder or jar and begin applying glue to the backs of the eyes and attaching them to the candle holder.
I found that it was easiest to put the glue on the back of the eyes instead of onto the glass.
Keep layering them on and filling in any empty spots until the whole candle holder is full of eyes!
Add a votive candle and display it on Halloween!
Once you get going with the googly eyes, you won’t want to stop adding them to all of your Halloween decor this year!
