Easy Pipe Cleaner Wreath Ornaments

Welcome to Day 6 – the final day – of our Pipe Cleaner Christmas Ornaments series. Can you believe we made six pipe cleaner Christmas ornaments using nothing but a few pipe cleaners!? This pipe cleaner wreath is easy to make and you only need 3 pipe cleaners.

I saved this wreath for last because out of all of the pipe cleaner ornaments that we made, this one is my favourite. It looks complicated, but it’s really not. Sometimes I’m really amazed by the fun things you can make from just a few twisted pipe cleaners!

I really love how the green and red sparkly pipe cleaners look together, but you can make your wreath any colour you like. Blue and silver. Pink and purple. Yellow and green. Choose your two favourite colours and see what you come up with!

These easy pipe cleaner wreath ornaments are so FESTIVE and really easy to make. Such a fun way to make homemade Christmas ornaments in less than 5 minutes!

My kids have made a LOT of homemade ornaments over the years. And they are so proud of every single one! Every year when we put up the Christmas tree they get sooooo excited to pull out the little treasures they’ve made.

If they’re a little bent from being in storage, they’ll lovingly bend them back into shape. If parts have fallen off, we’ll try to glue them back together. And if parts are missing, they’ll still proudly hang their broken little masterpiece. (Although I do try to convince them to hang the broken ones on the back of the tree… lol).

There’s something so special about homemade Christmas ornaments – and these pipe cleaner ornaments are wonderful for the kids to try! There’s lots of other fun Christmas shapes you can make from pipe cleaners so be sure to check out the other tutorials listed below.

How to make Pipe Cleaner Wreath Ornaments:

The full printable instructions are at the end of this post. Here’s a list of affiliate links to products on Amazon that are similar to the supplies we used:

To make this sparkly wreath grab two green pipe cleaners and line them up evenly, side by side. Twist the two ends together a couple times. There should be about 1/2 inch of twisted pipe cleaner at the end.

Next, you’re going to use your fingertip as a spacer. Place your finger between the two pipe cleaners, right next to the twist you just made. Wrap the pipe cleaners around your finger, then twist them twice. When you remove your finger there should be a small loop/circle where your finger was.

Continue to use your finger as a spacer, twisting the pipe cleaners around your finger making loops. Repeat until you’ve reached the end of the pipe cleaner. You’ll need to have about 1/2 inch of twisted pipe cleaner at the very end. If you have more than that, just trim off the extra.

Bring the two ends of the pipe cleaner together so it forms a circle. Twist the two 1/2 inch ends together. This will be the main part of the wreath.

See on the left side of the photo below how it forms a perfect wreath shaped circle? You can set it aside for now.

To make the bow, take a red pipe cleaner and fold it in half. We just want to know where the center of the pipe cleaner is, so you can open it up again after you’ve made a little bend.

Easy Pipe Cleaner Wreath Ornaments

Take one end of the red pipe cleaner and cross it over the little bend that marked the center, leaving a small 3/4 inch loop (this will be one half of the bow).

Wrap the pipe cleaner around the center mark, making sure the end points down when you’re done.

Repeat those steps for the other side of the bow.

You should have two loops and two ends that look like a bow.

Attach the bow to the wreath so that it covers the part where the two green pipe cleaner ends were twisted together.

Place the bow on top of the wreath. Take one red pipe cleaner end and wrap it around the wreath. Then take the other red end and wrap it around the wreath.

If your “ribbon” ends are a bit too long, cut them to make them shorter. I had to cut off about 1 inch from each end.

Your wreath is complete!

Tie some string or ribbon around the wreath so you can hang it on the Christmas tree!
