Apple Stress Balls

Hi again! It’s Megan from Homemade Ginger and I think both kids and adults will love today’s craft!

By now, probably most of you with school age kids have sent them back to school for the year. It’s still hard to believe that school is back in session! Even for young children, the transition to school can be a stressful one. I currently have 3 kids in school – 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade. It’s so interesting to watch how differently all 3 of them deal with heading back to school. I have one that is super excited because she could not be more extroverted and is energized by being around people all day. Another one of mine loves school but is exhausted when she comes home and then I have one that gets a little more anxious once school starts.

No matter how your kids might deal with school, chances are there will be stressful days. These apple stress balls are such a perfect back to school craft! Not only do they look super cute, but they are so fun to squeeze and play with, especially if you have a nervous child that needs to do something with his or her hands. These little apples would also be a super cute teacher gift along with a gift card!

I was inspired by this stress ball craft but wanted to make a version that was perfect for back to school! (Just a warning, these tend to pop or break over time if they are played with a lot, so you may want to toss them after a few weeks!)

Apple Stress Balls

Here is what you will need:

• Red and Green Balloons


• Flour


• Funnel


• Green Felt


• Brown Paint


• Hot Glue Gun

First, insert a funnel into the balloon and fill it with flour.

 

 

Next, press out any excess air and tie the balloon.

Paint the end of the balloon brown for the apple stem.

Cut a leaf shape out of felt and pinch the end. Put a tiny dot of hot glue at the pinched section.

 

Glue the leaf to the top of the balloon.

 

Your stress ball is ready to squeeze!

These are so great because not only are they fun to make, but they are totally addicting to play with!
