Are you ready for it? It’s peach season!!! Holy yumminess! And this list has the BEST peach recipes from all across the blogosphere! Peaches are pretty much amazing, so I’m not surprised there are so many delicious options. And I bet they’d all taste amazing with fresh, local fruit! I love this time of year when the fruit is all fresh and sweet and local!

I’ve been slacking lately when it comes to buying groceries. Somehow it seems like a minute goes by and poof, we’re out of fruit. And we NEED fruit in this household! So this week when we had nothing left, I took our girls to soccer practice and my husband offered to go to the store with our toddler to buy more fruit. It sounded like a good deal to me! I got to sit in a lawn chair in the warm sun, while he chased our toddler around the grocery store.

My husband came home with pears, bananas and a huge basket of small, almost greenish local peaches. I scoffed at him, because at this time of year, I wanted more variety. I looked at the basket of peaches, which was practically overflowing and I told him in a really annoyed tone, “Those are NEVER going to ripen!” (What can I say, I was having a cranky day…). But three days later, and wow, was I ever completely wrong! I tried one of the peaches last night (actually two of them, because one wasn’t enough), and the words that kept going through my mind were “holy cow, this is delightful!” Ha! I don’t usually use the word “delightful” for fruit, but those fresh peaches were soooooooo good!

My husband wrapped his arms around me and reeeeeeeally taunted me about how wrong I was about those peaches. What can I say, as the woman in this household, I can personally vouch that I’m never wrong (I’m sure you’re never wrong too, so you can probably relate to how rare this was… haha). So he was definitely enjoying the moment. 😉
