Hi again! It’s Megan from Homemade Ginger and I’m sharing the cutest ornament craft you’ve ever seen today. I know you will love these melted snowman ornaments as much as I do and they are so easy to make!
We just experienced our first snowfall here during the first week of November! I can’t remember the last time it snowed this early where I live. I am usually the type of person that doesn’t get into the Christmas mood until December, but the snow outside definitely made me want to start listening to Christmas songs and put a fire in the fireplace. The early snow was probably a good thing because Christmas sneaks up on my ever single year. Maybe I will be more on top of things now that it feels like the holidays outside.
We love making Christmas ornaments with our kids every year and the snow outside inspired me to make these melted snowmen ornaments. They turned out so cute and would be perfect to hang on the tree or attach to the outside of a wrapped gift. Kids will love getting involved in making these adorable melted snowmen!
I was inspired by these melted snowmen but wanted to make an ornament version with some faux snow. I just love how they turned out!
Melted Snowman Ornaments
Here is what you will need for these ornaments:
- White Foam Sheets
- Small Styrofoam Ball
- Small Black Buttons
- Orange Card Stock
- Felt
- Twigs
- Twine
- Faux Snow
- Glue
- Hot Glue Gun
- Hole Punch
- Black Card Stock
Begin by cutting your white foam sheet into an oval shape that represents the melted portion of the snowman. Punch a hole out of the top of the shape.
Using a paintbrush, apply some glue onto the foam and onto the styrofoam ball.
While the glue is still wet, cover the foam and the styrofoam with faux snow.
Once the glue has completely dried, add the button eyes with hot glue. Cut a small triangle shape out of the orange card stock and attach the carrot nose as well.
Cut out a black hat and attach it to the foam with hot glue. Add the twig arms, scarf and buttons as well.
Thread some twine through the hole in the top and tie it to form loop for the ornament.
And you are finished with your melted snowman!
Make a bunch and switch out the colors of scarves and hats if you’d like. These would be be great to give to grandparents as a keepsake ornament!
These ornaments come together so fast and they all turn out so cute with their own little personalities!
These melted snowman ornaments use faux snow and styrofoam balls to create the cutest snowman craft ever!
