How to Make Plastic Bottle Planters

Hi Guys! It’s Megan from Homemade Ginger again and I’m so excited to share this water bottle planter craft with you today. I love how these turned out and they are so fun for kids to help make!

Have you noticed that indoor plants are all the rage right now? I don’t think I owned a single indoor plant until a few years ago and now I can’t get enough. I love how they instantly refresh any space. My only issue is that I have a black thumb. I can’t keep my plants alive. Even succulents, that are supposed to be super tough, die on my watch. It really is kinda sad how pathetic my gardening skills are. Because of this, I even crafted up some geometric planters perfect for faux succulents!

Despite my pathetic plant-keeping skills, I have discovered the beauty of the cactus. This is a plant that I can keep alive! I have a little cactus that has been sitting on my counter for a few years and it’s still going strong. I love that I can water them every few weeks and they can still survive. And they are just adorable. I love this little water bottle planter craft because it looks so cute with a cactus sitting in it and chances are that it will last for awhile. You could experiment with herbs or succulents as well. Add some googly eyes to make your planter look like a little creature and you are all set!

These plastic bottle planters are seriously SO CUTE and only require a handful of materials. They are perfect for a cactus or succulent!

I was inspired by these cat planters but decided to see if I could make an easier version that kids could do themselves. They may need help with cutting the water bottles, but can easily do the rest on their own! They would be the sweetest gift idea for a teacher to put on her desk.
