This is a super simple craft activity for toddlers or preschoolers, or even older kids. It’s easy to set up and easy to clean up, which I love!

With different festive cookie cutter shapes and different paint colours you could even turn this into an easy holiday craft – hearts for Valentine’s Day, trees and gingerbread men for Christmas, even shamrocks for St. Patrick’s day.
All you need are some paper plates, a couple of cookie cutters and some craft paint from the dollar store.

Pour a generous amount of paint into a paper plate:

Dip the cookie cutter into the paint:

Make sure the bottom is completely covered with paint:

And press the cookie cutter onto the paper:

We did hearts and stars and my three year old had a blast with it!
Leave it to a toddler to figure out how to “paint” with the cookie cutters:

It’s great though, because at least they can have fun with it, and still end up with some perfect looking shapes. I’m not sure, but I think the yellow star below is supposed to be a sun…?

If this cookie cutter painting isn’t fridge-worthy, I don’t know what is… ; )

So, for my 3 year old who loves crafts, but gets tired of the same activities over and over, this is a super easy craft that you probably already have all the materials for!

I definitely recommend giving this a try. It’s so fast to get everything together, and the mess really is minimal. Totally approved by this mom!
